This employment opportunity is with our Rehabilitation Medicine Team, a division of Rady Children's Medical Practice Foundation. Employment will be through Rady Children's Specialists of San Diego.

NURSE PRACTITIONER

JOB SUMMARY:

The Nurse Practitioner provides comprehensive physical assessment, treatment, psychosocial support, referral, and health education to children and families in clinical, inpatient, school, and in-home settings. The Nurse Practitioner functions as a primary provider, clinical leader, educator, researcher and consultant and works with supervision of a physician. The Nurse Practitioner supports the philosophies of the department of nursing, as well as the medical staff. The primary responsibilities will be ambulatory clinics, inpatient evaluations, weekend inpatient call coverage.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Master of Science degree in Nursing - Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program

Registered Nurse, State of California

Nurse Practitioner, State of California

Nurse Practitioner Furnishing, State of CA (for positions that require medication furnishing/ordering/prescribing); Due upon hire but no later than 12 months of employment, or sooner based on department needs; See Job offer letter

Nurse Practitioner Furnishing, State of CA, Controlled Substance II Privileges (for positions that require the writing of scheduled II medications); Due upon hire but no later than 1 month after obtaining NPF

DEA number (for positions that require the writing of scheduled medications; Each department to identify which class needed CS II thru V); Due upon hire but no later than within 1 month of obtaining NPF & CSII privileges and no later than 12 months of employment, whichever comes first

CPR Certification issued by American Heart Association provider

PALS Certification issued by American Heart Association provider

National NP certification or eligible, obtained within 6 months of employment

Medicare Billing number (NPI- National Provider Identifier); Due upon hire but no later than 3 months of employment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

2 years of experience

Two years of experience in clinical nursing with emphasis in neurological and/or orthopedic assessments

Formal education and/or lecturing skills

PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT

JOB SUMMARY:

This position is accountable for a defined patient population under the supervision of a licensed physician. Functions dependently in a staff position, implementing the role of expert practitioner, consultant, educator, and researcher within a specialized area of patient care. Performs within the scope of licensures and in accordance with hospital policies. Some positions will be responsible for being on call according to a predetermined schedule or as needed, pursuant to hospital needs.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Current California Physician Assistant license

Completion of a Physician Assistant Program

Current CPR certification (Issued by American Heart Association provider)

Furnishing number, State of California (w/in 1 year of employment)

DEA license for positions that require the writing of scheduled medications (within one year of employment)

Medicare Billing number (NPI- National Provider Identifier) - must obtain within 6 months of employment

Certification: Physician Assistant, National Commission (w/in 1 year of employment)

Successfully completes the credentialing process through Medical Staff Services

Successfully completes the requirements of the delegations of Services for the assigned division
