The Pharmacist Informaticist (PI) is an experienced Pharmacist who has expertise in human factors, patient safety, and the use of technology to optimize care delivery processes and effectively communicate patient care activity. The PI specializes in the medication process, from ordering to administration, and is responsible for build, implementation, and maintenance of automation and technology to optimize pharmacy practice, pharmacy systems, and the medication-use process. The PI demonstrates independent decision making as appropriate in evaluation of requests for medication related system changes and determines feasibility and advisability of medication system changes with a patient-centric and end-user centric focus. The PI works closely with the Pharmacist in Chief, Inpatient Pharmacists, Physicians, Clinical Informaticists, Department Leadership, Quality, and Patient Safety to clarify needs, prioritize requests, design workflow to fit with electronic systems, and execute change. The PI is ultimately responsible for review, design, build and maintenance of medication clinical content for the Epic Willow EHR with a specialized focus on pharmacy and medication management throughout the continuum of care.

R.PH. or Pharm D with current licensure
Knowledge in fundamentals of hospital organization, management techniques, JCAHO, HIPAA and Title 22 requirements. Understanding of health care patient administration, clinical and business systems.
Strong computer skills and experience with clinical information systems development and/or implementation. Demonstrated ability to develop and write policies and procedures and to interpret complex regulatory requirements.
Effective verbal and written communication, ability to prepare concise, detailed reports and oral presentations to a broad spectrum of individuals and groups including senior management, physicians and health care professionals.
Demonstrated level of integrity and trust, capable of maintaining confidential information. Demonstrated customer service focus, ability to self-motivate and self-direct, balance competing priorities and critical thinking, analysis and problem solving skills.
Demonstrated ability to perform in a team environment, utilize effective team relationship skills and interact at all levels of the organization.
8 years of experience
One or more certifications in applicable application / module.
Experience with a pediatric population.
Implementation and upgrade experience with previous integrated HealthCare Information systems with emphasis on Clinical EMR applications/systems (Epic, Meditech, Cerner, etc.)
Pharm.D. (Licensed in California preferred).
