We are looking for an experienced Data Manager to oversee data management and logistics for clinical research. You will discover efficient ways to organize, store, retrieve, and disseminate clinical research and large genomic data with attention to regulatory compliance, security, and confidentiality.
An effective data manager is able to fully grasp the complexity of data life-cycle management across the breadth of the business. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of genomic data, clinical research data, high-performance computing, databases, and data analysis procedures. You will also be tech-savvy and possess excellent troubleshooting skills. You are extremely process oriented with attention to detail, and will institute the right procedures, protocols, and tools to manage data flows and to comply with the appropriate regulatory standards. You will get the job done, even if that means you had to write a bash script on the linux command line or set up AWS Glacier accounts. You can interact effectively with stakeholders from diverse backgrounds - business, laboratory, IT & management, to ensure everyone is on-board with the institutional Data Governance framework.
The goal is to ensure that information flows timely and securely to and from the organization as well as within.
Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or relevant field
At least 4 years of experience as a data manager
Excellent understanding of data administration and management functions (collection, analysis, distribution, destruction, etc.)
Must have worked in a regulated environment (lab/hospital/etc)
Familiarity with modern database and information systems and technologies
Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Access, Word etc.)
An analytical mindset with problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
8 years of experience
Experience working within a linux environment
Scripting or software development experience (any language)
Experience working in a clinical research or molecular diagnostic setting
Familiarity with public cloud environments
Experience working within multi-site collaborative settings
Experience working with large Genomic data sets (> 500TB)
Knowledge of bioinformatics and genome sequencing workflow would be a plus
