JOB SUMMARY:

The HomeCare Intake Coordinator is responsible for entering and maintaining admission information for HomeCare patients into the electronic medical record system, including demographic, clinical and insurance information. The Intake Coordinator also obtains authorization and re-authorization for services to be provided from a variety of third party payors, including commercial health plans, PPOs, HMOs, MediCal, CCS and other guarantors. The Intake Coordinator works closely with clinical and billing staff to ensure optimum reimbursement for services rendered.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma, GED, or Equivalent

2 years of experience

Proficient in utilization of Microsoft Office programs

Experience in a health care office

Proficient in keyboarding and utilization of health care-related computer systems

Understanding of medical terminology

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Associate’s Degree

3 years of experience

Experience in Intake functions, including: obtaining authorization from third party payors, proficiency with IDC9/IDC10 coding, home health, home infusion and home injectables reimbursement

The expected hiring range for this position is $20.96 to $28.81
