This is a Casual, Grant-Funded position with an anticipated assignment length through September 30, 2019 and subject to renewal thereafter.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Project Specialist, with oversight from the Program Coordinator and Program Manager, will assist the Program Coordinator with all aspects of implementation and evaluation of the Health Stars Program including the five-session series, Doc Talk, and Add-On sessions. Duties include assisting with the scheduling of sessions as well as volunteers and translators; communicating with community partners regarding session logistics and needs; maintaining all program materials including session bins, coordinator binders, and physician binders; ordering and managing supplies as needed including books, snacks, totes, office needs, etc.; assisting with program evaluation including data entry of evaluations; shadowing, providing translation and/or filling in for Coordinator at sessions including all aspects of session implementation; representing Health Stars at community events or health fairs. (Health Stars is a literacy and health education program for low-income families with small children living in affordable and homeless housing facilities. The program brings volunteer pediatricians into the community to teach key habits for raising healthy children through a series of five interactive sessions.)

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

HS Diploma, GED or Equivalent

1 year of experience

Current CA Driver’s License and Proof of Auto Insurance

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Ability to present ideas/information clearly and concisely and organize groups to action in a variety of settings

Ability to relate well with people from culturally diverse backgrounds

Knowledge of Windows and MS Office software programs

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s Degree

3 years of experience

Bilingual English/Spanish
