Evaluates the functional ability of patients through assessment of resident's skills (by clinical observation, interpretation of standardized tests, & patient/family interview). Creates individualized treatment plans, re-evaluates procedures, documents progress & completes written reports for quarterly & annual meetings. Consults with medical team, health professionals, family & school staff to render an individual intervention plan. Trains staff through formal in-services & direct, hands-on training. Coordinates all Recreational activities & the volunteer program, as well as maintains safe transportation services, operation of wheelchair vehicles & working with community groups.


Bachelor’s Degree in Area of Study in a Field Related to the Position

1 year of experience

Recreational Therapist Certification

CPR/BLS Certification through the American Heart Association

Leadership ability in both professional and interpersonal relationships


2 year of experience

Experience working with people with disabilities (Special Olympics, camp, school)
