This is a full-time, casual position that is funded until June 30, 2019. This is an RCIGM position to support research activities conducted at the SCRM site. This position may continue after June 2019 and is contingent on research funding.
Under the general direction of the Principal Investigator/Laboratory Director, position provides a variety of laboratory functions in support of the Rady Children’s Institute for Genomic Medicine’s (RCIGM) neuro-oncology research program at the Sanford Consortium for Regenerative Medicine (SCR M) in La Jolla, CA. This includes, but is not limited to, processing biological specimens for drug screening, xenografts, flow cytometry and other assays, working on problems of basic scope where analysis of situation or data requires a review of identifiable factors within defined parameters, determining appropriate action to carry out defined protocols & managing data for projects, grants and/or funding source.
Bachelor's Degree or commensurate experience
Word, Excel and data entry (Access, FoxPro, FileMaker)
Proficient in internet use and able to conduct literature searches using search engines such as
Psych Info and Pub Med
General understanding of computer software and hardware and familiarity with PC and/or MacIntosh platforms
1 year of experience
General understanding of biology and good laboratory practices
