This is a casual, grant funded position with an expected end date of September 30, 2022. This position has the option of being part-time or full-time.

JOB SUMMARY:

Under supervision, the incumbent will be responsible for supporting research data-intensive users through data extraction, creation of data sets, and maintenance of large databases and/or data warehouses with strong emphasis on the Clarity database. S/he will be responsible for specifications of data exports into various research applications or databases, the creation of data extractions for registries and for the development of SQL and supporting scripts to compile data. S/he will create data capture templates within Epic to support and to enhance current medical health data capture as it relates to research. Incumbent will participate in special projects and collaborations, initiate new projects and interact with users and other IT and research groups.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s Degree

2 years of experience

Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills

Experience using reporting applications in Epic including extraction of data and creating data sets for further analysis

Demonstrated understanding of information and knowledge modeling principles

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Master’s Degree

5 years of experience

Grant proposal experience

Data analytics experience in a healthcare field such as Nursing, Pharmacy, Biostatistics, or Clinical Informatics

Experience with database query tools, such as MS SQL Server scripting; Skilled with a computer based hospital system, such as EPIC, and able to perform requirement definitions of data needs

Experience developing and designing templates in Epic

Experience using reporting applications in Epic including creating data warehouse queries, resulting reports, and data sets

Epic Data Modeling Certifications

Knowledge of statistical methods using as R or SPSS
