Rady Children’s Hospital External Affairs division currently seeks a special events offer who will work closely with team to produce high-quality, fiscally responsible  events / projects that will elevate the vision and reputation of the Foundation, Hospital and Leadership Team.  Individual must be able to produce high quality events that will elevate the vision and reputation of the organization under the direction of the Director of Special Events and Protocols.

This position will be responsible for trouble shooting and resolving all logistical problems as they arise during the planning process and execution of events.  Provides excellent customer service to board members, prospects, donors, colleagues, clinical partners, volunteers and hospital leadership. Coordinates and obtains vendors for all facets of event production including caterers, florists, and photographers, among others; manage event budgets and expenses. Coordinates the contract review process and works closely with accounting to process and resolve event/project related expense; including promoting / communication of upcoming events and execute other projects as assigned within scope of responsibility.

The ideal candidate has event planning experience; be an excellent ambassador and representative for Rady Children’s and the Foundation; work efficiently under pressure and be able to meet deadlines; demonstrate good decision-making; and be proactive and solutions-focused. He / She should be articulate, poised, and possess good written and oral communication skills. An ability to work evenings and weekends.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s Degree

2 years of experience

CA Driver’s License

Proof of Auto Insurance

Experience in event planning

Detail-oriented and team player

Works efficiently under pressure; meets deadlines; demonstrates strategic thinking and good decision-making

Articulate, poised and possesses strong writing skills

Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed

Make frequent trips by personal vehicle between hospital buildings and venues

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

4 years of experience

Knowledge around Blackbaud non-profit applications
