Strategic Initiatives Officer – LII is responsible for coordinating high-level support to the External Affairs SVP, his/her volunteer boards and sub committees. Works closely with supervisor on a wide range of volunteer related activities, including the execution of an annual board plan and several annual meetings. Works closely with External Affairs leadership and supervisor in organizational strategic planning initiatives and affiliated projects. Often works behind the scenes to identify and solve potential issues before they become problems the supervisor must address, thereby optimizing workflow and the overall health of the organization. Acts as liaison for volunteers, External Affairs
colleagues, board and committee members; assists in planning meetings and preparing External Affairs materials. Is collaborative, strategic, and solutions-focused; formulates ideas and makes recommendations to External Affairs leadership. Creates and maintains tracking documents of progress toward key deadlines and deliverables and reprioritize as situations require. Maintains an active awareness of goals, objectives and direction of External Affairs as a whole. Meets or exceed department performance standards as assigned by supervisor. Creates and executes special projects as assigned by the SVP/Executive Director and/or supervisor.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree
3 years of experience
CA Driver License
Auto Insurance
Experience with boards, committees and/or high-level stakeholders and influencers
Meticulous attention to detail and team player
Works efficiently under pressure; meets deadlines; demonstrates strategic thinking and good decision-making, as well as an entrepreneurial spirit
Articulate, poised and possesses strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed
Make frequent trips by personal vehicle between hospital buildings and venues
Excellent organizational, time management, multi-tasking, and planning capabilities
Strong senior-level communication skills, both written and verbal
Expert-level experience in crafting presentations, briefings, letters and memorandums; proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Design and implementation of project monitoring strategies, including technological solutions
Ability to organize work, direct, set priorities and effectively accomplish required duties with minimal supervision
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Master’s Degree
5 years of experience
Knowledge of Blackbaud and/or similar constituent database tools, other non-profit applications
Experience in a nonprofit organization
Experience in a fundraising organization
Experience in communications and creative design
The expected hiring range for this position is $30.96 to $42.57
