U.S. News & World Report names Rady Children's Health among the best children's hospitals in the nation

For the tenth year in a row, Rady Children’s Health San Diego has been recognized as a 2026-2027 Best Children’s Hospital by U.S. News & World Report, achieving rankings in all 11 pediatric specialties surveyed. With only 18 children’s hospitals nationwide earning rankings in all specialties, this distinction underscores Rady Children’s place among the country’s leading pediatric health care organizations. Two specialties, Orthopedics and Cardiology & Heart Surgery, received higher scores than any other children’s hospital on the West Coast.

Rady Children’s Hospital has received Magnet® designation for nursing excellence from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). The standards are high – less than 7 percent of hospitals in the U.S. achieve this status.

With this credential, Rady Children’s joins the global community of Magnet-recognized organizations. Just 448 U.S. healthcare organizations out of over 6,300 U.S. hospitals have achieved Magnet recognition.
