Activity Room Assistant (Bilingual) Per Diem / Casual - Chadwick Center

RCHSD Chadwick Center is a fully accredited hospital-based children's advocacy center (CAC), a child-friendly place that provides family-focused and trauma-informed services to help children and families heal from abuse and other trauma. The Chadwick Center includes a diverse team of approximately 100 professionals, including social workers, therapists, advocates, training and technical assistance providers, administrative staff and leaders.

We are looking for a passionate Activity Room Assistant (ARA) to coordinate activity room and lobby programs, and provide child care support to children and families coming to the Chadwick Center. The ARA works individually and in groups with children to support them in adjusting and coping with the department environment by incorporating play, self expression, and other activities. The ARA provides a caring relationship that facilitates health and healing for children and siblings who come to Chadwick for a forensic interview, medical exam, or counseling services.

The schedule for this position 8 hours a week on Tuesdays, 8:30AM-5PM.

Bilingual in Spanish and English required.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Activity Room Assistant focuses on the recreational and developmental needs of children and families, coordinates activity room programs, maintains activity room supplies, assists in coordinating special events, and trains volunteers. Helps patients and their families adjust to and cope with the hospital environment by incorporating play, self-expression, and other activities. Provides a caring relationship that facilitates health and healing.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent

1 year of experience working with children

Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s Degree

1 year of experience working with children in a healthcare setting

The current salary range for this position is $21.00 to $28.88
