About the Role

Manage our employees' Leave of Absence requests, interpret policies, review medical certs, authorize requests, track data, and coordinate their returns. This is a hybrid role with both in-office and remote days each week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Interpret and apply leave policies in accordance with organizational guidelines and legal requirements
  • Review medical certifications and Leave of Absence (LOA) forms to determine eligibility and duration of leave
  • Calculate and assess leave durations, ensuring accuracy and compliance
  • Authorize all LOA requests and maintain records in the system
  • Coordinate employee returns, collaborating with various teams to ensure a smooth transition back to work
  • Provide outstanding customer service to our employees and their leaders
  • Prepare and maintain detailed reports on leave activities

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent (Bachelor's degree preferred)
  • 3 years of experience in a Human Resources role with a focus on Leaves of Absence (5+ years preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state leave laws, including FMLA and CFRA
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to technically interpret and apply policies and procedures
  • Proficient in using HRIS systems, preferably PeopleSoft and/or Workday
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with diverse teams
  • Strong analytical skills to determine eligibility and duration of leave accurately

The current salary range for this position is $28.09 to $38.62

Rady Children’s Hospital is committed to compensation that is externally competitive and internally equitable.
