JOB SUMMARY:
Mgr, Financial Systems Directs, manages, coordinates and reviews the work of staff supporting and implementing the PeopleSoft, Hyperion and API systems; as well as working closely to coordinate, direct and review the work of IT staff engaged in performing project management, analysis, applications programming, development, installation, and maintenance and support for one or more enterprise-wide financial areas of information systems. Plans and implements effective inter-departmental communication in addition to conducting general staff meetings, meeting with staff members, setting priorities and providing resource development with and for staff. Evaluates required resources, develops job descriptions and recruits and hires personnel. Directs all system modules that are associated with finance. System management includes: managing the definition of system and user acceptance test procedures and scripts, assisting with the preparation of training and education services, identifying and documenting support requirements, and recommending appropriate support mechanisms. Oversees the scheduling of activities to support finance/ERP application software implementations, upgrades and enhancements to ensure that activities are completed on a timely basis. Manager of Financial Systems performs project management, analysis, maintenance and support for systems that support the pillars of Accounting/Finance at Rady Children's Hospital. Demonstrates knowledge and ability to collect appropriate data for management and financial decision making. Identifies appropriate data sources for critical decision making, develops effective and efficient data collection methods, assures data integrity via periodic audit procedures and ensures with consistency of data definitions, codes, classifications and terminology, within area of responsibility. Uses knowledge of GAAP to work with accounting staff, test and implement automated/electronic business processes. Accountable for the transmission of all financial electronic data interchange between the facility, banks, vendors and clearinghouses.
This position comes at a time of change as there is a Workday ERP implementation occurring. This position will assist in the implementtion of Workday FIN as well as helping to understand how Workday PAY and Workday SCM interface into FIN. This position will also assist with current day systems which include but are not limited to Peoplesoft, Lawson, and Perceptive. This position will manage a team of knowledgeable and dedicated professionals.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s Degree
Area of Study in a Field Related to the Position
5 Years of Experience
Recent experience in a team lead or supervisory role managing accounting and information system professionals, including analysts, developers and project managers.
Proven ability to manage large, complex projects that span multiple departments and team members in an interdisciplinary environment, with ability to facilitate the timely resolution of issues across organizational boundaries.
Advanced working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of products including Project, Visio and Access.
Knowledge of GAAP regulations.
Proven ability to improve operational processes and metrics through the development or implementation of advanced technologies and/or optimization of installed systems
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
Master’s Degree
8 Years of Experience
Certified Management Accountant
Certified Public Accountant
Prior experience managing within an accounting department.
Hands-on development and report writing experience.
The current salary range for this position is $58.38 to $80.28
