JOB SUMMARY:

Parent Liaisons aim to support and advocate for patients and their caregivers, improve their control of the treatment process, and add to the quality of care that they receive during their time at Rady Children's. Serving as a member of the Emergency Department (ED) team, this role would work primarily in our ED waiting rooms to provide support to our patients and families before they are seen. As one of the first contacts for those seeking care, the Liaison provides insight into our processes in the ED, as well as would respond to any concerns that might arise during their wait. This individual should be flexible and adaptable to assist with the constantly evolving needs of the department and the needs of our patients and families at any time during their shift. Successful Liaisons are strong communicators, great teammates, and comfortable with providing friendly, sensitive support and emotional comfort to patients and families experiencing stressful situations and experiences with their sick and injured children.

We are proud to have a big team that values strong collaboration and communication across disciplines. We are a busy department that cares for over 300 patients each day, with a census of 109,000 patients last year, and includes a growing population of behavioral health patients.
