JOB SUMMARY:
The Physician Assistant provides comprehensive physical assessment, treatment, psychosocial support, referral, and health education to children and families in clinical, school, and in-home settings under the supervision of a licensed physician. The Physician Assistant functions as an advanced practice provider, clinical leader, educator, researcher, care coordinator and consultant. Performs within the scope of licensures and in accordance with hospital policies. Some positions will be responsible for being on call according to a predetermined schedule or as needed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Master’s Degree
Completion of a Physician Assistant Program
Current California Physician Assistant License
Current BLS for Healthcare Providers, issued by AHA
DEA license for position that require the writing of scheduled medications (must obtain within 1 year of employment)
Medicare Billing Number (NPI-National Provider Identifier) - (must obtain within 6 months of employment)
Certification: Physician Assistant, National Commission (must obtain within 1 year of employment)
Successfully complete the credentialing process through Medical Staff Services
Successfully completes the requirements of the PA Practice Agreement for the assigned division
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
2 years of experience in a direct clinical care position with emphasis in specialty area
Experience in specialty area as a Nurse Practitioner
Formal in-service education and/or lecturing skills
Bilingual
The expected hiring range for this position is $61.30 to $91.95
