What You’ll Do
Provide expert nursing care in a fast-paced, trauma-capable pediatric emergency department.
Perform clinical assessments, nursing interventions, and critical thinking to care for infants, children, and adolescents.
Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary professionals in managing a wide range of emergencies - from mild illnesses to life-threatening trauma.
Participate in research, teaching, and quality improvement efforts to improve patient outcomes.

New-to-Peds and New-to-Specialty Training
Are you an experienced ER nurse who loves working with kids?We welcome experienced adult ER nurses interested in transitioning to a dedicated pediatric ED with a New-to-Peds orientation, including preceptor-led clinical training.
Are you an experienced Pediatric nurse who wants to transition to the fast-pace of an ER? Utilize the skills you've already built as a Peds RN and transition from an inpatient acute or critical care pediatric unit into the ED! We have dedicated training and support to help you thrive in the ED.

POSITION INFORMATION:
Schedule: Full-Time, 0.9 FTE
Shift: Rotating - All new hires start on 1900-0730, but may move shifts based on availability and seniority
Location: Main Campus in San Diego, CA
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Associate's Degree in Nursing
1 year of experience
Current California RN License
BLS for Healthcare Providers, issued by the American Heart Association
PALS (within 3 months of hire)
ACLS (within one year of hire)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
3 years of experience
Professional nursing certification
Pediatric nursing experience in a comparable, high-acuity department
Bilingual English/Spanish
The current salary range for this position is $61.91 to $88.55/hr plus shift differentials.
A candidate’s placement in the range will be determined based on the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
