JOB SUMMARY:

The Research Associate for Orthopedic Research position is responsible for intermediate level research support to the Orthopedic Research Division. Under direct supervision and guidance of the Orthopedic Research Program Manager, the Orthopedic Research Associate is responsible for assisting with various research project duties, on multiple projects, from the initiation to completion phases. This position supports the department in assisting with protocol generation, insuring IRB and institutional compliance, project specific duties with minimal guidance to carry study to completion, and manuscript/abstract editing and submission.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s Degree in a health-related field

2 years of experience in research

Experience in IRB material preparation and submission

Knowledge of all standard research practices

Knowledge of basic anatomy

Knowledge of research protocol and development

Knowledge of Human Subjects Committee standards

Knowledge of Federal and State research regulations and requirements

Knowledge of multi-center study, publication, and presentation requirements

Ability to use personal computers, including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, e-mail, and web browsers

Good communication and teaching skills, written and oral

Proficient on database & spreadsheet software

Demonstrated knowledge and ability to collect appropriate data/clinical information for decision-making; Utilizes appropriate data/clinical information in daily activities; Maintains confidentiality of data/clinical information and communicates/documents information in a timely and effective manner

Ability to work independently, participate effectively as a team member, and demonstrates initiative, good judgment, organization, appropriate work attendance and punctuality

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience in orthopedic research

The expected hiring range for this position is $26.74 to $36.78
