The IS Project Manager is responsible for applying project methodology, supporting project team members & participating in developing & maintaining project management standards. This job has three major focus areas: Apply formal project management methodologies for IS project implementation & development of projects. A. Responsible for developing project plans that include work breakdown structures, dependencies, timelines, resource allocations, risks, project budget, costs, etc. B. Manage all expectations & record project variances, as necessary. C. Manage all resources assigned to projects. D. Lead project meetings that are agenda driven & action oriented. E. Provide support & direction to all teammates, fosters & promotes professional working relationships & provides conflict solutions. F. Responsible for timely completion & quality of work produced by all project resources. G. Produce & utilize effective project tools & reports to project team members to direct their work. H. Report project status & conclusions to IS management, & RCHSD management, as necessary. I. Analyze project conclusions, risk analysis & assessment & present recommendations to Steering Committee. Responsible for the successful turnover of projects to production. A. Ensure that production turnover of projects are prepared too meet RCHSD/ISD acceptance policy criteria. B. Manage production resources to ensure a smooth & efficient turnover of all projects to production support C. Manage the creation of production turnover documentation. D. Oversee Tier 1 & Tier 2 production turnover meetings. Responsible for participating in developing & maintaining project management standards within the IT division. A. Adhere to & utilize project management methodology standards & tools, ITIL processes & procedures. B. Stay current on project management methodologies & trends. C. Take advantage of educational opportunities, as appropriate. D. Actively participate in evaluating methodologies for improvement, as necessary. E. Track all lessons learned throughout a project. Review, analyze & communicate them so that the department as a whole can experience continuous process improvement.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s Degree
3 Years of Experience
Ability to organize and facilitate meetings and mentor team members on project management techniques and tools, development of project roles and responsibilities.
Knowledge in fundamentals of hospital organization, management techniques, JCAHO, HIPAA and Title 22 requirements are required.
Capable of maintaining confidential information.
Experienced in project management in a leadership role capacity, performing systems analysis, implementation and training, Healthcare IT related project management experience.
Knowledge about project management techniques and guidelines, including the project management life cycle, business case, feasibility studies, risk analysis and assessment, quality and cost control, and contracting procedures required. Must be able to manage large, complex projects that span multiple departments and team members in a matrixed environment, with ability to facilitate the timely resolution of issues across organizational boundaries. Experience developing and managing a project budget and timelines, and resource allocation.
Minimum of 3 years in a project management role with the emphasis on Project Management or other relevant work experience.
Ability to communicate clearly and make oral presentations to a broad spectrum of individual and groups, including senior management and to prepare concise and/or detailed written reports.
Demonstrated policy/procedure writing, regulation interpretation, organization planning, education program development, facilitation, communication and presentation skills essential.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of health care patient administration, financial and clinical systems.
PMI training or Certification a plus
Implementation experience with previous integrated Healthcare Information systems with emphasis on Clinical and Financial, EMR applications/systems (Epic, Meditech, Cerner, etc.).
Working knowledge of the technical work of the project team (software development, infrastructure, operations, etc.) preferred.
Experience in a supervisory capacity and the ability to direct and develop others
The current salary range for this position is $43.56 to $59.91
