JOB SUMMARY:

The Surgical Technologist Service Coordinator for the Operating room provides direct and indirect patient care within a specialty service. Surgical technologist Service Coordinator work under the supervision of the Registered Nurse to facilitate the safe & effective conduct of invasive surgical procedures, ensuring that the operating room environment is safe, that equipment functions properly, & that the operating procedure is conducted under conditions that maximize patient safety. The Surgical Technologists Service Coordinator possesses expertise in the theory & application of sterile & aseptic technique & combines the knowledge of human anatomy, surgical procedures, & implementation tools & technologies to facilitate the performance of invasive therapeutic & diagnostic procedures. The surgical technologist service coordinator collaborates with the RN Service Coordinator on all service-related issues and needs, to include reviewing the day of and future service-related procedures, and needs for equipment and supplies. The surgical technologist service coordinator serves as a subject matter expert for their respective service line as a preceptor and mentoring of peers. Key responsibilities within the service line include participation in operational planning and consultation, equipment and supply oversight, vendor management, maintenance of physician preference cards, orientation and competency of staff, internal auditing,

and maintaining regulatory requirements. Assists in building and maintaining strong working relationships with internal and external customers. Evaluates and monitors both internal and external scheduling processes. Follows up with education, training, and development of policies and procedures as needed. Reports noncompliance and concerns to management and physician leadership.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

H.S. Diploma,GED,or Equivalent

4 Years of Experience

BLS for Health Providers (AHA)

Nat'l Surgical Tech Cert

Advanced experience in either trauma, cardiac, neurosurgery, orthopedics or general surgical procedures

Prior experience as a lead surgical technologist responsible for a service line

Prior experience caring for patients in a pediatric trauma facility

Demonstrated commitment to respecting differences and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Associate's Degree

5 Years of Experience

The current salary range for this position is $36.73 to $51.10
