Murrieta, CaliforniaJoin Rady Children’s multidisciplinary team supporting the developmental needs of children in Southern Riverside! At our Murrieta Medical Plaza location, occupational therapists work together with physical therapists, speech-language pathologists, developmental psychologists, behavior therapists, audiologists and others in the assessment and treatment of children. You will also have the opportunity to participate in our multidisciplinary comprehensive evaluations for children at risk for Autism Spectrum Disorder. Rady Children’s Murrieta location offers an intimate environment while affording you the opportunity to be a member of a large and diverse occupational therapy team.
Due to the business needs of this position, pediatric feeding experience is required.
JOB SUMMARY:
Independently evaluates the functional ability of patients through the administration, interpretation of standardized tests, clinical observation, and patient/family interview. Creates individualized treatment and educational plans and provides patient/family counseling and training. Develops and implements innovative and specific treatment plans to maximize the patient's functional potential or return to previous level of functioning, based on clinical findings. Consults with medical team and allied health professionals and documents all pertinent clinical findings to render a comprehensive, family-based or individual intervention plan. Proficiency in the care of patients with feeding and/or swallowing impairments is often needed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Master’s Degree or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an AOTA accredited program, if graduated prior to 2004
Current California license in OT or eligible if new grad or licensed in another state
NBCOT: National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy
BLS for Healthcare Providers, issued by AHA
Valid California Driver’s license and Auto Insurance required when applicable
Ability and experience working independently, using critical thinking skills and processes to arrive at objective, strategic, results-oriented decisions within the context of patient care and department, division and organizational priorities
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Doctorate Degree (non MD)
5 years of experience
Board certification in advanced practice (SWC, HTC, PAM)
Pediatric experience
Bilingual Spanish speaking
The expected hiring range for this position is $45.75 to $62.90
