This is a casual, grant funded position which is subject to renewal by 06/30/2026

Due to business needs of the department, this position prefers proficiency in English and Spanish. Also driving is required.

JOB SUMMARY (Dev. Specialist I):

Under general supervision, provides clinical services (screening, assessment, treatment planning, and/or intervention support) for children. Provides educational information to patients, parents and families regarding their child's developmental needs. Responds differentially to children based upon the child's age, understanding of the child's developmental level/abilities/disabilities, and cultural considerations. Serves as a liaison with community referral sources including physicians – offices and/or other treatment professionals to facilitate clinical and treatment options. Provides marketing and administrative support to program by producing flyers, handouts, and training materials and entering documentation into the computer database.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's Degree in related discipline

6 months of experience in field related to area of specialty

BLS for Healthcare Providers, issued by AHA

Computer skills sufficient to perform data entry, electronic charting, production of educational materials, and word processing

Valid California Driver's License and Auto Insurance (if applicable)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Additional education beyond undergraduate degree related to area of specialty

Bilingual English/Spanish

Serves as a liaison with community referral sources including physicians’ offices and/or other treatment professionals to facilitate clinical and treatment options. Provides marketing support to program by producing flyers, handouts, and training materials. Enters service documentation into computer database.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Master's Degree in related discipline

Valid CA driver's license and auto insurance (if applicable)

Two years of experience

Current BLS for Healthcare Providers, issued by AHA

Demonstrated competency in varied treatment modalities for children with special needs

Computer skills sufficient to perform data entry, electronic charting, production of educational materials, and word processing

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Three years of experience

Bilingual English/Spanish

The current salary range for this position (Dev. Spec. I) is $25.47 to $35.03

The current salary range for this position (Dev. Spec. II) is $28.09 to $38.62
