The Director of Government Affairs is responsible for:
• Maintaining active awareness of legislative issues, including proposed legislation and public policies that may impact Rady Children's Hospital San Diego, and developing and coordinating strategies to address them.
• Working closely with the Vice President of Government Affairs to implement strategies that enhance Rady Children's local advocacy agenda, including designing legislative proposals that support priority initiatives.
• Working with internal and external stakeholders to influence policies, practices and resources that align with community benefit initiatives.
• Collaborating with subject matter experts to inform positions and influence policy.
• Executing special projects as assigned by the Chief External Affairs Officer/Executive Director, Vice President and Chief Advocacy & Public Policy Officer, and/or Supervisor.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree
5 Years of Experience
Knowledgeable how government entities function and experience in the healthcare industry
Works efficiently under pressure; meets deadlines; demonstrates strategic thinking and good decision-making, as well as an entrepreneurial spirit
Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
Strong conflict resolution skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Master's Degree
7 Years of Experience
The current salary range for this position is $58.38 to $80.28
