JOB SUMMARY:
Under the general supervision of the Laboratory Supervisor the Medical Laboratory Assistant II is responsible for a variety of specimen collections on children both inpatients & outpatients, processing tests, referral test analysis preparation & shipping registration & lab test order entry hospital/departmental computer procedures Microbiology specimen processing & departmental instrument maintenance. Working behind the scenes, the MLA II helps to save lives every day!

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma, G.E.D. or Equivalent
One year of experience
Phlebotomy certificate
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Two years of experience
BLS for Healthcare Providers (American Heart Association)
Prior pediatric experience in phlebotomy, specimen accessioning and processing, patient registration and lab test order entry in a clinical laboratory under a qualified Director.
The current salary range for this position is $27.31 to $38.00
A candidate’s placement in the range will be determined based on the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
