This employment opportunity is being recruited by Rady Children’s Hospital-San Diego on behalf of Children's Specialists of San Diego.

JOB SUMMARY NURSE PRACTITIONER:

The Nurse Practitioner provides comprehensive physical assessment, treatment, psychosocial support, referral, and health education to children and families in clinical, school, and in-home settings.  The Nurse Practitioner functions as a primary care provider, clinical leader, educator, researcher, care coordinator and consultant and works with the supervision of a physician.  Performs within the scope of licensures and in accordance with hospital policies.   Some positions will be responsible for being on call according to a predetermined schedule or as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Master’s Degree in Nursing

Current California Nurse Practitioner license

Current CPR/BLS Certification for Healthcare Providers, issued by AHA

Furnishing number, State of California – Must obtain within 1 year of employment

DEA license for positions that require the writing of scheduled medications – Must obtain within 1 year of employment

Medicare Billing number (NPI- National Provider Identifier) - Must obtain within 6 months of employment

Certification: Nurse Practitioner, National – Must obtain within 1 year of employment

Successfully complete the credentialing process through Medical Staff Services

Successfully complete the requirements of the delegations of Services for the assigned division

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Two years of experience in clinical nursing with emphasis in specialty area

Experience in specialty area as a Nurse Practitioner

Formal in-service education and/or lecturing skills

Bilingual Skills desired

The Physician Assistant functions as an advanced practice provider, clinical leader, educator, researcher, care coordinator and consultant. Performs within the scope of licensures and in accordance with hospital policies. Some positions will be responsible for being on call according to a predetermined schedule or as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Master’s Degree

Completion of a Physician Assistant Program

Current California Physician Assistant License

Current CPR/BLS Certification for Healthcare Providers, issued by AHA

Current PALS Certification, issued by AHA

DEA license for positions that require the writing of scheduled medications – Must obtain within 1 year of employment

Medicare Billing number (NPI- National Provider Identifier) - Must obtain within 6 months of employment

Certification: Physician Assistant, National Commission (must obtain within 1 year of employment)

Successfully complete the credentialing process through Medical Staff Services

Successfully completes the requirements of the PA Practice Agreement for the assigned division

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

2 years of experience in a direct clinical care position with emphasis in specialty area

Experience in specialty area as a Physician Assistant

Formal in-service education and/or lecturing skills

Bilingual Skills desired

The expected hiring range for this position is $67.58 to $92.93 per hour.
