Patient Placement Coordinator (RN) - Central Support

The Rady Children's Hospital Patient Placement Coordinator Nurse is responsible for all activities which involve the effective and efficient placement and flow of patients in coordination and collaboration with the house supervisor. The Patient Placement Coordinator Nurse is responsible for interacting with medical staff within the system and those referring patients to RCHSD, ensuring patients are admitting at the appropriate admission status, location, and escalating issues negatively impacting patient flow through the proper channels. Assigns patients to an appropriate hospital bed, monitors the demand for beds as needs become known through the Emergency Department, O.R., same-day surgery, direct admissions, and transfers from unit to unit within the hospital inpatient population. Collaborates with physician, and teams with patient/family/physician regarding transfers
to higher level of care. Participates in capacity management and necessary triage and evaluation of patients to prioritize bed assignments. Monitors and projects bed availability based on known, predicted, or expected transfers and discharges. Participates in the Command Center for patient and bed tracking in an emergency event or drill.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Associate's Degree
3 Years of Experience
BLS for Health Providers (AHA)
California RN License
Completion of Registered Nursing AND Program
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree
5 Years of Experience
National Certification of CHAA
The current salary range for this position is $59.93 to $87.58
A candidate’s placement in the range will be determined based on the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
