Behavioral Sleep Medicine Psychologist
The Medical Practice Foundation at Rady Children’s Hospital is expanding its programs as part of the Rady’s Mental and Behavioral Health Strategic Plan, and we are seeking a dedicated psychologist with expertise in behavioral sleep medicine or emerging expertise to join our team.
This position involves providing comprehensive care to children and adolescents with medically complex needs (e.g., neurological and developmental disorders) at the state-of-the-art Center for Healthy Sleep at Rady Children’s Hospital. Responsibilities include:
- Screening, assessment, and delivery of evidence-based interventions for sleep disorders, such as CBT-I, PAP adherence, and motivational interviewing, care for children with unique sleep disorders including narcolepsy and circadian disorders, sleep hygiene education, and parent training.
- Close collaboration with pulmonologists and other professionals within the Division of Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine to ensure multidisciplinary care.
- Active participation in the teaching and supervision of psychology and medical trainees.

Job Summary:
Pediatric Clinical Psychologist-Advanced Practice The Advanced Practice Pediatric Clinical Psychologist has training in select areas that enables them to provide specialized direct patient care in assigned locations. The psychologist is expected to follow Rady Children's integrated behavioral health models and guidelines. The psychologist develops care plans, implements evidence-based therapies, and testing following Rady Children's integrated behavioral health model and guidelines. Follows departmental guidelines regarding minimum amount of time spent diagnostic testing (specific departments only). The psychologist recommends ongoing treatment and links children to community mental health resources/therapeutic services. The psychologist works in partnership with their supervisor/manager/director, and leadership to coordinate, plan, evaluate and improve the functions and roles of psychologists working in Rady Children's locations. The psychologist works collaboratively with operational leaders, physicians, and staff to participate in the advancement of behavioral health initiatives that aim to improve the health of pediatric populations. The psychologist participates in ongoing initiatives of the department to support the vision and innovation of integrated Psychology services at Rady Children's.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
PHD or PSYD in clinical psychology or related field of psychology with specialization in pediatrics
1 year clinical experience
Licensure (or eligibility for licensure) in California by the start date
Board certification in Behavioral Sleep Medicine (or willingness to pursue certification)
ADOS training and experience, PCIT certification, diagnostic testing 0-5 or an APA accredited internship and postdoctoral fellowship with specialization in pediatric psychology, sleep psychology, pain psychology, or other applicable specialty fellowship and/or certification in an advanced practice area
Successfully completes the required credentialing process for the department/area of practice
BLS for Health Providers (AHA) (Minimum)
Ability and experience working independently, using critical thinking skills and processes to arrive at objective, strategic, results-oriented decisions within the context of patient care and department, division, and organizational priorities
Demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Completion of an APA-accredited internship with clinical child and adolescent psychology as a major area of study; sleep medicine experience
3 years post – psychology licensure clinical experience
Bilingual English/Spanish

The expected hiring range for this position is $58.38 to $80.27
