School Health Assistant (Full-Time During School Year, Summers Off) - Casual - School Health Contracts

This is a casual, grant funded position which is subject to renewal on 06/30/2026.

Full time during school year with summers off.

JOB SUMMARY:

School Health Assistant under the direction of the Manager, School Health & the district nurse provides triage, evaluation & treatment of preschool and elementary school children in the health office of assigned school sites in the National School District. The School Health Assistant works collaboratively with the district nurse, school staff, families & students to provide health services to promote wellness & decrease health barriers that negatively impact participation in school attendance & activities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma, GED or foreign equivalent

Two years of experience

Graduate of MA or CNA program

Current BLS for Healthcare Providers, issued by American Heart Association

Pediatric experience

Effective communication and organizational skills

Proficient computer skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Four years of experience

CMA or CNA

Bilingual

Experience in preschool or elementary school environment

The current salary range for this position is $21.00 to $28.88
