This employment opportunity is being recruited by Rady Children’s Hospital-San Diego on behalf of Children's Specialists of San Diego.

JOB SUMMARY:

Under general direction of the Perinatologist and Division Manager but with minimal supervision, the lead sonographer performs ultrasound examinations on adults and serves a lead to the sonographer team. Exercises independent judgment and ingenuity to perform a variety of sonographic examinations that require a comprehensive knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and sonographic principles. Assumes responsibility for designated areas or procedures as required. The professional level of this health care service requires a highly skilled and competent individual who functions as an integral member of the health care team. The lead sonographer must be able to produce and evaluate ultrasound images and related data that are used by physicians to render a medical diagnosis. The lead sonographer must acquire and maintain specialized technical skills and medical knowledge to render quality patient care. As a lead employee, the incumbent will also be expected to coordinate and assign workflow, review and assess completed work, ensure training and competencies of team and provide leadership feedback in coaching, mentoring and performance of staff. May be assigned other lead administrative duties as appropriate.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Associates Degree - Graduate of an approved school for Diagnostic Ultrasound (approved by AMA and American Institute of Ultrasound Medicine)

1 – 2 years of experience

Fetal Echo ARDMS Certification

Physics (SPI) ARDMS Certification

OBGYN ARDMS Certification

BLS for Healthcare Providers, issued by AHA

Current NT certification with NTQR or FMF

Good communication skills

Previous experience in OB/GYN; preferred in MFM

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Bilingual English/Spanish and/or other languages that meet business needs of the division

The expected hiring range for this position is $48.03 to $66.05
