Rady Children’s Hospital San Diego is recruiting for a consultation liaison pediatric health psychologist to join our team which includes a full-time psychiatrist on the CL service. The full-time position would be dedicated to providing care to children and adolescents admitted to the hospital.  The psychologist will work closely with the subspecialty medical teams including gastroenterology, rehabilitation medicine, neurology, nephrology and endocrinology, as well as other services to provide evidence-based intervention.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Consultation Liaison Psychologist (CLP) provides direct patient care in various mental health locations within RCHSD. The CLP works collaboratively with treatment teams internal and external partners, and agencies in the development of clinical programming and implementation. Works to support the department in the advancement of behavioral health initiatives that aim to improve the mental health of pediatric populations. Primary role of the CLP is to provide clinical assessments, develop and implement care plans, and provide evidence-based therapies and when indicated conducts testing. The CLP completes documentation per department standards and regulatory guidelines. Participates and leads ongoing initiatives of the department to support the vision and innovation of direct clinical care to patients and families.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Doctorate Degree (non-MD)

2 Years of Experience

BLS for Health Providers (AHA)

CA Licensed Psychologist

Successfully complete the credentialing process through Medical Staff Services

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

3 Years of Experience

Academic emphasis on assessment of children and child development

The expected hiring range for this position is $52.95 to $72.81
