JOB SUMMARY:
The Director of Government Affairs is responsible for:
•Maintaining active awareness of legislative issues, including proposed legislation and public policies that may impact Rady Children's Hospital San Diego, and developing and coordinating strategies to address them.
•Working under the direction of the Vice President, Chief Advocacy & Public Policy Officer, and in partnership with the Rady Children's Advocacy & Public Policy team and external policy advisors, to implement strategies that support Rady Children's Health's San Diego advocacy agenda, including developing and executing legislative proposals that support health system priorities.
•Working with internal and external partners to advocate for policies, practices and resources that advance Rady Children's mission.
•Collaborating and amplifying the voices of Rady Children's Health clinicians and subject matter experts to inform positions and influence policy.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree
5 Years of Experience
Experience in government relations, government affairs or public health administration required. Health policy experience or healthcare industry experience is strongly preferred.
Works efficiently under pressure; demonstrates initiative and strong project management skills; demonstrates clear team orientation, strategic thinking and executive judgement.

Master's Degree
7 Years of Experience
The current salary range for this position is Min: $64.34 - Mid: $85.25 - Max: $106.15

The range listed above does not represent the full salary range for the position but is the expected hiring range for qualified candidates. Compensation decisions consider a variety of factors including experience, education, licensure, unique skillsets, organizational need, and internal equity.
