JOB SUMMARY:
The Nurse Practitioner provides comprehensive physical assessment, treatment, psychosocial support, referral, and health education to children and families in clinical, school, and in-home settings. The Nurse Practitioner functions as a primary care provider, clinical leader, educator, researcher, and consultant and works with the supervision of a physician. The Nurse Practitioner supports the philosophies of the department of nursing as well as the medical staff.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree
Current California Nurse Practitioner License
Current BLS for Healthcare Providers, issued by AHA
Furnishing number, State of California (must obtain within 1 year of employment)
DEA license for position that require the writing of scheduled medications (must obtain within 1 year of employment)
Medicare Billing Number (NPI-National Provider Identifier) - (must obtain within 6 months of employment)
Certification: Nurse Practitioner, National (must obtain within 1 year of employment)
Successfully complete the credentialing process through Medical Staff Services
Successfully complete the requirements of the delegations of Services for the assigned division
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Master’s Degree
2 years of experience in clinical nursing with emphasis in specialty area
Experience in specialty area as a Nurse Practitioner
Formal in-service education and/or lecturing skills
Bilingual
The expected hiring range for this position is $58.38 to $80.27
